Retaining Customers Through Support Experience and Efficiency
A smooth support experience and efficient support teams work together to delight and retain customers when it comes to customer support. Stefan Steinle, executive vice president and head of Customer Support, SAP SE, shares more about how the Customer Support organization at SAP is harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) to help bring innovative improvements and deliver value to businesses. While the primary role of customer support is to fix customer issues promptly and effectively, it is equally important to address the needs of support engineers. Customer support is not just about customers. Yes, you heard that right. It may seem counterintuitive, but there’s another side to the story of retaining customers. The customer’s support experience and the engineer’s support efficiency are two sides of the same coin.

Six drivers of the future of corporate learning
Though cavepeople wouldn’t recognise much of what goes on in the world today, they would understand our need to learn at work and improve our skills. Without constantly honing their abilities to hunt and gather in collaborative teams, they would have starved, and we wouldn’t be here.Until recently, much of the training and development offered by corporations would have perplexed early Homo sapiens, with a focus on teaching specific skills for static roles rather than the more human-centered skills that have held us together for eons.Corporate training departments are now rediscovering their hunter-gatherer roots. For example, the abilities to communicate effectively, empathize, and reframe challenges are coming back to the fore.

How to Get the Most Out of This Transformative Moment for Business Technology
If 2023 was the year when generative artificial intelligence (AI) finally became a consumer reality, this will be the year when AI in a business context takes a big step forward. While AI may get all of the attention, this is actually a moment when two transformative technologies for business are converging. On one side there is the awesome power of the cloud, which allows businesses to break down silos so their teams can access the data they need to innovate faster and in a more secure environment. On the other side is generative AI for business, which can do everything from generating content and code to automating time-consuming tasks and discovering new insights. But behind the hype and the headlines about generative AI lies a fundamental truth that IT professionals know very well: Any new technology only has value when it can be integrated seamlessly across systems and processes so organizations can do things they couldn’t do before.

To Profit from Sustainability, Be Resolute
When it comes to sustainability, there are two types of businesses: reactive and resolute. In reactive businesses, sustainability is driven by external forces rather than internal strategy. Reactive businesses do what they need to do when they are told to do it – specifically, by customers and investors, according to an SAP Insights survey.Resolute businesses, which represent 12% of respondents in the survey, are taking more action on sustainability than everyone else, and their efforts are more likely to have positive effects on the business. But what really makes these businesses – which we’ve termed the Resolutes – stand apart is their strong belief that sustainability is directly tied to business competitiveness. When something affects competitiveness, it becomes strategic. And when something becomes strategic, companies approach it with more rigor and discipline. They invest in it. And they measure it. They expect to get results, and they expect those results to contribute to their bottom line.
